"Music Is My Ministry." - Azara

With a servant's heart and a passion for creativity, Azara is spearheading a movement. She desires to get people UNSTUCK - something she knows about all too well. Though she is a Christian artist, her music touches the "unchurched," people who wouldn't normally listen to traditional gospel and worship music. This is where her heart is, because she did not grow up in church, and received her calling from God while in college, where she literally threw out of her car window her entire secular CD collection, hundreds of CDs, after a pastor's message at a church convention woke her up to the truths about music and how powerful it can be to reaching a person's soul.

Azara is not just an artist, she is also a music producer & songwriter, with degrees in Music Production & Engineering as well as business, a serial entrepreneur as a CEO/Founder of multiple companies, and a community advocate, where she leads creative community engagement and empowerment initiatives that help everyday people not just survive... but thrive! She loves people with the genuine love of God and intentional action, as an ambassador of Christ's love.

Her sound is light & fun, a breath of fresh air, with a soulful, airy, soprano vocal, laced over "pop-n-b" beats fused with elements of jazz, edm, pop, and more, the sounds she grew up listening to. Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Brandy, and Sade were her "vocal trainers" growing up as a little girl playing their tapes and CDs over and over while perfecting her vocal sound. After receiving the Lord, Azara was able to study incredible vocalists like Karen Clark Sheard, Kim Burrell, and Tonex, some of her favorite vocalists of all time. She also received classical vocal instruction under Dr. Karen Nevins while in high school, receiving local, regional, and national recognition.

Azara's debut indie released album "Love Notes" ('07) was well received, and got spins nationally and internationally, with recognition from early internet music sites like soundclick and myspace. She was offered record deals, but ultimately decided to stay independent and keep full ownership of her music. After her life took a traumatic turn, Azara was not able to release another album for many years, however, she has been fortunate to grace stages and studios with lots of amazing artists, producers, and songwriters, and is back on the music scene with a personal mission to finish what she started long ago. Azara's on fire and her passion is contagious; she is taking all out massive action to empower people that may have gotten "stuck" like herself to break through and become everything God has called them to be!
